  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: 3/23 and 3/24

    Dear East-West Families,

     

    As announced in our Parent Newsletter and on the DOE calendar, our school will be holding Virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24.

     

    Parent-Teacher Conferences are an important opportunity for families to meet with teachers to discuss your child’s progress, as well as ways to help them improve. Families will be able to book appointments with individual teachers on Thursday, March 23rd from 4:30 PM- 7:30 PM, and Friday March 24th from 12:15 PM- 2:15 PM. If you are unavailable on those dates, or if the teacher with whom you would like to conference is fully booked, please email the teacher(s) to schedule a conference at a different time. On March 24th, all students will be dismissed at 11:23 AM.

     

    Booking Appointments with Teachers

    We are asking families to use Microsoft Bookings to schedule a 10-minute conference with each teacher that you would like to meet with.

    To book your appointment:

    1)               Click Booking Link

    2)               Select one of your child’s teachers from the “Select Staff” option. (DO NOT select “Anyone.”)

    3)               Click one of the times displayed.

    4)               Fill in the information on the form and submit. Type your email address carefully.

    5)               Repeat for each teacher with whom you would like to schedule a conference.

     

    Please keep in mind the following:

    ●     In order to accommodate all parents, we must limit conferences to 10 minutes with each teacher.

    ●     Select the name of the teachers that you would like to speak to - DO NOT select “anyone”

    ●     Although you are selecting teachers to conference with, for co-taught (more than one teacher) courses, families may be contacted by any teacher of the class.

    ●     While making an appointment, you will be given the choice between a telephone or a video conference. If you require translation services, please select ‘phone conference’ so that we can accommodate your language needs.

    ●     In the event that you are unable to meet during this time or you miss your appointment, please contact your child’s teacher directly to set up an alternative time for a conference.

     

     

    ●     If you do not know the names of your child’s teachers, please access your NYC Schools Account. Your child’s teacher’s names are also listed on the most report card that you received or on your child’s paper class program.

    Como ha visto en el boletín, nuestra escuela llevará a cabo conferencias virtuales de padres y maestros el jueves 23 y viernes 24 de marzo.

     

    Las conferencias de padres y maestros son una oportunidad importante para que las familias se reúnan con los maestros para analizar el progreso de su hijo, así como las formas de ayudarlo a mejorar. Las familias podrán reservar citas con maestros individuales el jueves 23 de marzo de 4:30 p. m. a 7:30 p. m. y el viernes 24 de marzo de 12:15 p. m. a 2:15 p. m. Si no está disponible en esas fechas, o si el maestro con el que le gustaría tener una conferencia está completo, envíe un correo electrónico a los maestros para programar una conferencia en otro momento. El 24 de marzo, todos los estudiantes saldrán a las 11:23 a. m.

  • PupilPath, NYC Schools Account and Electronic Grades Access

    As you may be aware, the DOE has ended its partnership with the PupilPath system. Our school is currently transitioning to Jupiter Grades, which is designed to help you monitor your child’s progress. Log-in information will be sent home after we finish transitioning. Until then, please continue to use your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) Portal. Currently, you can see your child’s report cards, view attendance, update important contact information, and more in NYCSA. If you have not created a NYCSA account, please do so, as it keeps you up-to-date with everything mentioned above.

    If you need help creating an account, please contact our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Campbell, at acampbell@ewsis.org.

    Como sabrá, el DOE finalizó su asociación con el sistema PupilPath.   • 2/28 Black History Month Soul Food Celebration

    In two weeks, we will be hosting our PTA Meeting/Soul Food & Celebration Family Night. It will begin on February 28th, promptly at 6:00PM to 7:30PM. 

    In honor of the rich history, legacy and contributions of the African diaspora, East-West would like to invite families to a night of delicious food, student presentations, music, conversations and fun. All are invited! The event will start in the auditorium. Please RSVP as soon as possible for this Black History Month event and reach out to Ms. Patterson (LPatterson@ewsis.org) with any questions, suggestions or concerns.

  • Parent Workshop (1/19) and PTA Meeting (1/26)

    2. Hay un próximo seminario web gratuito para padres dirigido por una agencia comunitaria llamado "Cómo entender el significado del comportamiento desafiante de su hijo" el jueves 19 de enero de 10 am a 11:30 am. Se discutirán estrategias de afrontamiento prácticas positivas. Se proporcionará traducción al español y al cantonés.

    Good evening, this is the East-West School of International studies calling with an important
    reminder. Please note that there will be Regents Prep for the Algebra 1 Regents on Saturday,
    January 7th and January 21st. It will take place in Room 426. Your child will need to reach a 70
    on the Algebra Regents to meet the college readiness scores.
    Please make sure they attend. Regents are in 3 weeks!!!
