  • December Message from Principal Cromer

    Good Day Parents, This is Principal Cromer calling from the East-West School of International Studies.

    It’s December parents, Happy Holidays. The holidays are right around the corner and the 2 nd Marking period report cards are going out soon. I look forward to seeing all East-West parents this month at the
    following East-West events:

    • December 13 th from 6:30 – 8:00 pm our monthly PTA meeting will be held in person at the school and virtually. Prior to the PTA meeting, our School Leadership Team meeting will begin at 5:00 pm.
    • On Dec. 20th from 5:30 – 8:00 pm please come out and support our East-West Winter Festival and Awards Ceremony. Please come out spread some holiday cheer, listen to some good music, and support our students in various categories for multiple awards.
    • December 23 rd is the last day of school before our holiday break. School will resume on Tuesday, January 3 rd .

    Once again parents, we look forward to seeing you soon and I hope to see you at our PTA and SLT
    Meeting and at our Winter Festival.

  • Thanksgiving Break and PTA Meeting

  • Fall 2022 Parent-Teacher Conferences

    Parent-Teacher Conferences are an important opportunity for families to meet with teachers to discuss your child’s progress, as well as ways to help them improve. Families will be able to book appointments with individual teachers on Thursday, November 17th from 4:30 PM- 7:30 PM, and Friday November 18th from 12:15 PM- 2:15 PM. If you are unavailable on those dates, or if the teacher with whom you would like to conference is fully booked, please email the teacher(s) to schedule a conference at a different time. On November 18th, all students will be dismissed at 11:23 AM.

    Please see the attached form for information on our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conference dates. They will be held virtually on Thursday, November 17, 2022 and Friday, November 18, 2022. Follow the link and the instructions to schedule with your child's respective teachers. Pictures are included for your convenience, at the end of the document.

  • Friday 10/7 - Color Wars

    Good afternoon Parents and Guardians,

    This is a reminder of our upcoming Color Wars event! Tomorrow, October 7th, students will not have a 0 period class. The school day begins at 8:03 am and ends at 2:23. Students do not need their book bags but must carry their ID cards.

    The event takes place at Kissena Park, located at the corner of Colden and Oak. We ask that students bring their own lunch, snacks, and water. We will return to the school by 2:20 for dismissal.

    Any parents or guardians are welcome to come and observe the fun! I will also be present in the morning, if you wish to meet me in person and ask any questions you may have.

    We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

    ¡Este es un recordatorio de nuestro próximo evento Color Wars! El día de mañana, 7 de octubre, los alumnos no tendrán clase de periodo 0. El día escolar comienza a las 8:03 am y termina a las 2:23. Los estudiantes no necesitan sus mochilas, pero deben llevar sus tarjetas de identificación.

  • 9/29 - Meet the Teacher Night

    This is a reminder of East-West's upcoming "Meet the Teacher Night" on Thursday, September 29, 2022. These are different from traditional parent-teacher conferences:

    • If your child is in Grades 6-11, each session will be repeated at 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, 6:30pm and 7pm. During these sessions you will have the opportunity to virtually meet your child's teachers, learn about their classes and how to support their learning, and what to expect this school year.
    • If your child is in Grade 12, you will be attending the Senior Parent Workshop. This Workshop will repeat at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. It will be hosted by Ms. Rebecca Partap, our College Counselor.

    Parents may attend the sessions that are convenient for you! Please see the attached form with the links.

    The first day of school will be on Thursday, September 8, 2022. All students should report to school at 8:03 AM.

  • 9/1 + 9/2 Summer Bridge

    We will be hosting Summer Bridge this fall, for Middle School it will be on Thursday, September 1, and for High School it will be on Friday, September 2 from 9AM-12:30PM on both days.

    Activities include:

    • Scavenger hunt to get to know the school
    • Ice breakers to get to know your classmates

  • Pupilpath Update

    The Department of Education has ended its partnership with the company that manages PupilPath. In September, we will transition to a new system. Families can access your NYC Schools Account to see your child's June grades. Please email Ms. Campbell at acampbell@ewsis.org if you need assistance.
