    FOREIGN LANGUAGE DEPT. GRADING POLICY

    Tests   35%

    -Full period exams given in class, once or twice per marking period.

    Quizzes  15%

    -10-15 minutes each, focusing on a specific topic. Generally given once a week.

    Graded Classwork 20%

    -specified assignments and tasks that all students must complete in class. This includes:

    -dictations

    -recitation of dialogues (graded for pronunciation, fluency, and accuracy)

    -performance of role plays (graded for pronunciation, fluency, and accuracy)

    -completion of in-class interview activities

    - writing exercises

    -responses to readings

    Projects   15%

    -A project that is connected to the unit of study and which includes:

    -writing                               

    -editing and revision

    -an oral presentation (optional)

    -group projects must demonstrate learning by all members (no decorator roles)

    Homework  10%

    Forums 5%

    -Students receive credit based on the quality of writing and thoughtfulness of their ideas, as well as their responses to other posts.
