Spring semester Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place Thursday evening, March 18th, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm and Friday afternoon, March 19th from 12:00 – 2:20 pm. 
 
Students will be dismissed early on Friday to accommodate afternoon conferences. Dismissal time will be 11:00 am. 
 
You will be meeting with each of your child’s teachers for a one-on-one conference. Your will be informed of how your child is doing in such areas as: homework completion, tests, quizes and project grades, class participation, attendance and punctuality and overall attitude towards taking ownership of his or her learning. We encourage you to bring your child to the conferences.
 
This year, for the first time, Academy teachers are working with your child to create learning and attendance goals. Please be sure to schedule time to meet with your child’s Academy teacher to review and sign off on their goals. 
 
You are strongly urged to take advantage of this opportunity to find out how your child is succeeding in school.  We look forward to meeting with you on either Thursday evening or Friday afternoon.
 

Parent Teacher Association Monthly Meeting on March 6th at 10am

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will next meet on Saturday, March 6 at 10:00 a.m.  Please do join the East West School community in this meeting. 

 

We will open the meeting with a mini-concert by our own East-West School Chorus, led by accomplished musician Ms. Amanda Chu. We will be treated to a sampling of songs in four languages – English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. This short special presentation will introduce parents to our fine choral group, which performs widely. You can enjoy the music while accompanied by some breakfast treats and coffee or tea. 

 

The business portion of the meeting is intended to give parents tools and information they can use to help their children get the most from their education. We will cover news and information specific to East-West from the PTA, Principal Mr. Sherman, Assistant Principal Mr. Smith, and Parent/Community Coordinator Mr. Chow. And finally, we always allow plenty of time for a question and answer period so that the concerns of the parents can be addressed by the school administration.

 

Attention: Parents of 8th Graders! Immediately following the general meeting, an important meeting will be led by Assistant Principal Mr. Smith and Guidance Counselor Mr. Diaz to discuss special activities of the 8th grade class as they graduate from Middle School. Please attend and help plan for these milestones.
