Dear East-West Community,

On October 6, 2020, we notified you that a member of our school community was sent home with Covid-19 symptoms.

That individual was tested for Covid-19 and the results were negative.

Thank you for your cooperation.  Health and safety will always come first in New York City public schools, no matter what.

This is the East-West School calling with an important request.  We are asking all families to fill out the Family Income Inquiry form formerly known as the lunch form.  The completion of this form helps with funding for our school.  Without this completed form, East-West will not receive the funding needed to offer extra tutoring and clubs for our students.   Even if you are a remote learner, a form must be filled out.   You can go to our website, look for the quick links and click on the My School App.  Once you have completed the online form, please submit your receipt by e-mail to Ms. Esposito at jesposito@ewsis.org.  Thank you and have a pleasant evening.

Good Afternoon Parents, This is an important update from East-West.  As stated by the Mayor, all in- person learning has been postponed until Thursday, October 1st.  All students will learn remotely beginning Monday, September 21st.   Your child’s schedule will be updated on pupil path tomorrow, Friday, September 18th.  Students will also receive updates during Friday’s orientation.  Students are expected to be in school remotely every day from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.  We will continue to update you as new information becomes available.  A separate announcement will be made for those students who still need textbooks.   If you have missed any portion of this message, please visit our website at www.ewsis.org.  Thank you and have a pleasant day.

All students will have Back to School Orientation this week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The orientation will be live online for ALL students. Students must attend all 3 days of the orientation. All students will receive an email invitation to the Orientation Google Classroom by Tuesday, September 15 at 12 PM. If your child does not have access to their East-West email account, or if your child does not receive the orientation invitation, please email the Parent Coordinator at shu@ewsis.org.
