Summer Bridge 2016

Summer Bridge is a mandatory day-long orientation with a series of workshops and presentations for families and students to introduce our school culture and policies.

Summer Bridge for new incoming students

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

8:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Lunch will be provided by our outstanding PTA.  There will also be a nubmer of staff members and students on hand to answer any questions or concerns.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Microsoft Office 365 Account

Starting this month, all parents and guardians with children who attend New York City public schools will now have free access to Microsoft software and services. Thanks to a partnership between the Department of Education, Microsoft, and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, parents/guardians of City students across all five boroughs will be able to download the following Microsoft digital products free of charge:

• Office 365 ProPlus on Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Skype for Business, Access, InfoPath and Publisher)
• Office for Mac Professional 2016 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)
• Office for iPad, iPhone, Android (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)

In addition, all City students and their parents/guardians will have free online access to Microsoft’s Cloud service as well as Office Online. 

Parents will be able to download Microsoft software on up to five family computers and five family tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices. To download this software, parents should visit Microsoft's website and enter their home phone number or email address in addition to their child’s date of birth. 

Any parent/guardian who is having difficulties registering for the Microsoft software should speak directly with staff members at their schools’ main offices. Please note that government-issued photo identification may be required by schools to verify home addresses and other contact information.

Program Pickup for 2016-17

Students' program will be distributed on Wednesday, September 7 according to the times listed for middle school and high school.

Please note this is not a school day and classes will not be in session till Thursday, September 8.

Parents and students can also access their new schedule on Pupilpath.

PTA General Meeting

Please join us for the first PTA meeting of the year, this Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10AM.  All parents and guardians are cordially invited to attend.  We will be collecting dues and will be selling raffle tickets for $1.00.  There will be a nice surprise given away.  And as always, we will provide plenty of time for a question and answer period.

College Now

First Day of classes for College Now begins on Sept. 15th.

First Friday - Sept 16

Meet the Teacher Night

Meet the Teacher night will take place on Wednesday September 28th from 4:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. You will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, learn about your child’s course expectations, and attend several workshops regarding the college process, pupil path, after school programs and more. Our uniform company will be on site so that you may purchase uniforms.  We hope to see you there.

Color Wars

Student Government is proud to announce the 2016 Color War on Thursday, September 29th. The event will run the entire school day, so students do not need their book bags, but must carry their ID cards. We are asking all students to bring their own lunch and any snacks. They are not allowed to bring their own beverages as our generous PTA has secured a donation of water.  We will return to the school by 2:15 for dismissal.  We look forward to an exciting and spirited day and welcome parents to the field to cheer on the students. Go East-West!

Gym Uniform Pick-Up

Pre- ordered gym uniforms are available for pick up on August 21st, between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the main gym located on the first floor.

If you did not get to order a gym uniform you will have an opportunity to do so upon your arrival.

Please note you will have to order the regular school uniform on Ideal Uniform website or at any of their locations. Ideal will not be present on the 21st.
