2013 Chinese Bridge Delegation to China

Principal Sherman was one of a few selected leaders invited as guests to Hanban Confucius Institute Headquarters to participate in the 2013 Chinese Bridge Delegation to China.

 

This was a week long program to China to help educators strengthen their institution's Chinese programs and partnerships.  Highlights included school visits, cultural activities and educational workshops.  Mr. Sherman was quoted: "The school environment is beautiful, and the students' English is great."

 

中国风倾倒美校长团

　　11月11日，受中国国家汉语国际推广领导小组办公室和孔子学院总部邀请，63位美国中小学校长来到郑州96中访问，成为“中美汉语桥”的交流使者。

　　96中的师生们为美国客人奉上了古筝、葫芦丝、豫剧、太极拳、毽球、书法、剪纸、茶艺等极具中国韵味和河南特色的精彩表演。许多美国朋友还参与其中，学古筝、秀太极、踢毽球，甚至用起了毛笔。在观摩了96中的课堂教学情况后，来自纽约州的东西方国际学校校长本·谢尔曼说：“这所学校环境优美，孩子们的英语都很棒。”

　　据悉，访问团还将在郑州、洛阳等地继续参观、考察。
