Dear East-West Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
You are cordially invited to our next PTA meeting which will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM. We will start with a delicious breakfast buffet and then proceed to the business portion of the meeting.
The business portion of the meeting will offer information useful to parents from the PTA. We will be conducting our Annual PTA Executive Board Elections. We are still looking for parents interested in joining the PTA Executive Board and the School Leadership Team. We are currently looking for a parent to run for the position of Recording Secretary which has no nominees. Please come and let your voice be heard! The meeting will also include reports from our Principal, Mr. Sherman and our Assistant Principals, Ms. Panday and Mr. Seo.
And finally, we always allow plenty of time for a question and answer period so that the concerns of our parents can be addressed by the school administration.
Following the PTA meeting, we will be hosting a free Title 1 Parent Workshop entitled Helping Your Child Develop Critical Thinking Skills. This workshop will be given by Michele Luc from PCM Associates. Through engaging activities and thought provoking discussion & sharing, participants will learn proven techniques which teach children “how to think”. To be successful in the 21st century, children need to develop and effectively apply critical thinking skills to every aspect of their lives. All are invited and encouraged to stay for this enlightening workshop. A catered lunch will be provided for those who attend the workshop.
