  • MOVEMBER (2) Changing the Face of Men's Health-Support Movember Month A message from our illustrious social studies teacher, Mr. Oppenheim,

This Movember, I'll be raising funds and awareness for men's health. Will you join me? Signing up is really quick and easy... http://moteam.co/east-west-stache-best It doesn’t matter if you’re a Mo Bro or a Mo Sista – Movember is for everyone. There are two ways to participate: sign up to grow a moustache for 30 days, or take the MOVE challenge and get active every day for 30 days. I'm passionate about this because 510,000 men die from suicide each year. That's one every minute. The Movember Foundation is funding research and services to help men and boys stay mentally healthy. Learn more about the important work and impact the Movember Foundation is having: http://us.movember.com/programs/strategy

We're in this together, so get involved and spread the word. Sam Oppenheim http://mobro.co/samoppenheim

  • Join our Student Government in displaying the spirit of East-West. Dress up for Wacky Tacky Monday, Character Day on Tuesday, Culture Wednesday, Sports Thursday, and in celebration of Halloween, Fright Friday. IMG_2595 IMG_2599 IMG_2604 IMG_2597

From our Student Body President, Pamela Benitez:

Its a great time for students to show off their creativity and spirit. Everyone loved to play pretend and dress up as kids, spirit week is a great time to relive that. This year's lineup include Wacky Tacky, Character Day, Culture Day, Sports Day, and last but certainly not least, Fright Night. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I do. It's great to see students get excited over the Fright Night costume contest, arguing over who will have the most awesome disguise. One of my favorite parts of spirit week is to see teachers dress up and take part in the fun.  I look forward to seeing which students and teacher win the Fright Night costume contest.

  • Annual Title 1 Parent Meeting

    Wednesday, October 28, 2015

    6:30 PM in Room 418

At this important informational meeting Principal Sherman will be sharing an overview of our school’s Title 1 program which is one component of our Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP).

We will also take a vote whether to form a Parent Advisory Council (PAC) or to have the PTA oversee the 1% budgeted for Parent Involvement from Title 1 funds.

Let your voice be heard and come cast your vote.  We welcome more parent involvement in our school, and your feedback will greatly help our school community.
